Psychological problems of gang stalkers I - mental disfunction as a social disease
Stalking is a state of mental health problem as they have an uncontrollable obsession on the subject. Individual level stalking often occurs when the person cannot handle own desire to control the subject. It might happen as an ugly outcome of a love affair, or as a result of extreme competition at the workplace. In any case, the stalking is a psychological problem of the person who stalks other individual. If this is true for the individual level stalking, then group level stalking must be categorized as a social disease in the society. If gang stalkers are often involved in gaslighting and stalking, we must discuss both issues as their psychological characteristics and the problems for the victims.
First of all, the gang stalker's claim of the targeted individual as a stresser in their society is a hoax. If gaslighting happens when the gaslighter is under some stress, then we must understand how gang stalkers experience the stress. According to The Gaslighting Effect, Dr. Robin Stern writes that gaslighting occurs when the gaslighter experience some stress, and the gaslighter tries to regain his sense and power in the relationship by employ the gaslighting method. Generally speaking, the targeted individual (gaslightee) is usually a stranger in the area where the organized stalkers work. In some case, the individual is a traveler just stopped by at a place, where gang stalkers appears and do their jobs to harass the individual. In such situation, it is almost impossible to think that the target caused any stress among unknown group of people. In other words, the organized stalkers used 'transference' method to believe blindly that the target is the problem for their stress. It seems the stalkers already have another personal stress in their life and they blame the stranger of the cause of their trouble. This is a typical explanation for scapegoating. People claim an individual for everything yet the people who are really responsible for the problem remain safe from the accusation. In such case, the organized stalkers will have no chance to deal with their real stresser as they try to avoid dealing with the problem.
Next, social norm of the gaslighting atmosphere is different from what healthy society has. During the witch hunting period, the society claimed someone as a witch. This happened without any reason. If someone did not like the person, then she could spread the rumor of the target was a witch. The whole society followed for notorious investigation. There was no logical consideration of the fact at all. For organized gang stalking, in her book, Dr. Stern states that gaslighting needs two participants; the gaslighter and the gaslightee. If organized stalkers are group-formed gaslighters against one single gaslightee, then this form is an extended version of gaslighting. This is similar to the people involved in whitch hunting. Everyone involving in the gaslighting has no sense of logic to figure out the problem of their society. They simply continue the gaslighting until the target perished by their power.
Third, gaslighting keeps everyone under stress. If entire population is involved in gaslighting, then we can say that all the gaslighters have frustration for whatever the reason. Some people say that they are trained by an institution for gaslighting, yet it is quite impossible to make the entire population in the certain area to work on an individual. Some gaslighters may enjoy the gaslighting as it is part of their communication technique to negotiate with others. The others may be participating the gaslighting for necessity in their situation. The organized stalkers seem to have a strict hierarchy in their social structure. In other words, they share a small world of totalitarianism in the area and reinforce the people to participate in their group action against the target. Because of such draconian hierarchy and less freedom for each individual, the stalkers are experiencing stress for participating in the public lynching. They do not even have a choice not to participate gaslighiting.
Totalitarianism might become a global trend for post 911. However, we know that totalitarianism will not function well from our past history. There are many ideologies available for any society, and it is our choice to chose which one we need. Gang stalkers might believe organized group thought is perfect, yet they became slaves for their bosses. Organized gaslighting is similar to how totalitarian society represent its characteristics by targeting minorities and liberals for the scapegoat. It is a phenomenon that how people lose their own mind for blindly believing their leaders. If an individual stop thinking by own brain, how can we keep us to be human beings? A philosopher said that “human being is a thinking reed.” Without thinking, we will become a bunch of weeds.
